Prinx Chengshan (Qingdao) Industry Research & Design Co., Ltd. was inaugurated July 28 in Rongcheng, Shandong province.
The new firm was located in the Rubber Valley, Qingdao, and it is a subsidiary of Prinx Chengshan (Shandong) Tire Co., Ltd.
The firm consists of five R&D departments and 12 research offices, covering preliminary product planning, tire technology development, imitation, technique research, material research, formula design, intelligent manufacturing, tire testing, and tire and vehicle performance matching.
There is also an expert committee to integrate existing technologies of Prinx Chengshan and to form complete sets of tire R&D system and tire matching system.
The new firm is ready for operation and some 200 million yuan will be invested in it in three to five years for the operations.
It aims to expand the technical R&D team to 107 employees, build up an expert team of 9 to 11 people, and have the R&D expenditure accounting for over 3% of its sales revenue.
The new firm believes that the moves will enhance the R&D level and design productivity. It also holds that domestic tire producers’ market competition should focus on brand and technology, rather than on cost and price.
