Russia's Synthetic Rubber Export to China Doubles in Q1

In the first quarter of 2016, Russia's synthetic rubber exports rose 8.9% year on year. The export volumes kept growing for three consecutive months in the first quarter but the growth rates decreased month by month and in March the export only climbed 2.5%.

In March, the isoprene exported from Russia grow 10.6% on a yearly basis, it dropped 8.6% from February.

Russia's butyl rubber exports didn't fluctuate much, as the growth in halogenated butyl rubbers offsetted the impact of decrease in regular butyl rubbers.

Russia's regular butyl rubber exports dropped 23.7% in March year on year, or down 7.9% from February; but the styrene-butadiene rubber exports and polybutadiene rubber exports rose both on yearly and monthly bases.

In the first three months, Russia's synthetic rubber exports to China doubled, but the growth rates from January to March also declined month by month and the growth in March was 62.4%.

The growths in exports of specific products were particularly large. Russia's exports of isoprene rubbers to China rocketed 580% in March from the same period of 2015, those of styrene-butadiene rubbers surged 117.5%, and those of polybutadiene rubbers jumped 67.7%.
