Senior staff change in tire industry in 2015

The tire industry initiated a wave of senior staff change in 2015.

Both domestic and foreign tire companies changed senior managers and every staff change affects people’s feeling.

Coopertires hires Latin American general manager

U.S.-based Coopertires appointed Luis Ceneviz as general manager of theLatin Americatire business department, effective from Mar. 1, 2015.

Luis Cenevis had been India-based Apollo Tyres’s president in Europe, Sub-Saharan Africa andAmerica. Before that, he was the board chairman and CEO of Apollo Tyres inSouth Africa.

In November 2015, the board of Coopertires appointed Gary S. Michel was a board member. Gary S. Michel is responsible for marketing and sales of Coopertires in Central America andMexico.

 

Bridgestone changes senior managers in Europe and America

In March, Bridgestone appointed Guy Jones as the business development manager, in a bid to strengthen the business in northEurope.

Guy Jones used to work in Land Rover and KIA Auto, and is responsible for the completion of key programs after joining in Bridgestone.

Later in July, Bridgestone’s plant in Metalpha appointed Bruce Johnson as new CEO and president because of retirement of former Japanese CEO Yoshiaki Yamada.

Joint-CEO of Kumho Tire resign soon after appointment

In April, two joint-CEO of Kumho Tire, Lee Han-seon and Park Se-chang resigned.

The two took office only for a short period of time and their resign was because of disagreement of creditors.

So far, there are two joint-CEO in Kumho Tire, namely Park Sam-koo and Kim Chang-kyu.

Giti changes general manager, hires vice president

In June, the board of Giti Tire Corp. Ltd. approved Jiang Xizhou resigning the post of general manager and appointed Chen Fuzhong as new general manager, effective from July 1.

In July, Giti Tire appointed John Aben as senior vice president, in a bid to expand the company’s share inNorth Americaand ensure rapid development the newly-built passenger car and light pickup trunk tire plant.

Triangle Tyre appoints new CEO

In June, Pierre E. Cohade was appointed as CEO of Triangle Tyre. Starting from 2004,Pierreworked as president of Goodyear in Asia-Pacific and accumulated rich experiences in multinational company. The appointment is a crucial deployment of Triangle Tyre in globalization.


Goodyear reshuffles leading group

In June, Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. appointed Pietro Saletta as new CEO of itsTurkeybranch Goodyear Lastikleri.

In August, Goodyear Tire and Rubber appointed Chris Delaney as president-in-waiting in Asia-Pacific and he will be fully in charge of Goodyear’s business in the region from Jan. 1, 2016.

In the end of August, Peter R. Rapin jointed Goodyear Tire and Rubber as vice president and treasurer, in charge of financial affairs of Goodyear.

Michelin changes president in China

In August, Brunode Feraudy, senior vice president of the Passenger Car and Light Truck Tire Department of MichelinChina, substituted Phillippe Verneuil as president of MichelinChinaas well as head of the Passenger Car and Light Truck Tire Department.

Phillippe Verneuil was appointed as president of Michelin in the Africa,India, andMiddle Eastgreater region.


Sailun Jinyu vice president resigns

In August, Hao Shude, vice president of Sailun Jinyu Group Co., Ltd. resigned for personal reasons, effective on Aug. 21, 2015.

Half of Pirelli board resign

In August, China National Chemical Corp. (ChemChina) completed incorporation of Pirelli, whose staff changed considerably afterwards.

On August 1, former board member Paolo Fiorentino and Gaetano Micciche resigned their posts as board member. By October, half of the board resigned their positions.

After that, Ren Jianxin, board chairman of ChemChina took office as new board chairman of Pirelli. In the meantime, former board chairman Marco Tonchetti Provera took office as executive vice president of the new board as well as CEO of Pirelli.

In November, sales of Pirelli’s industry business department dropped because of imbalanced revenue growth, sluggish OE department of South America and slower growth ofChina’s after market tire. General manager of the industry department of Pirelli Lorenzo Sistini resigned.

Sentury appoints CEO of U.S. plant

In November, Rami Helminen, former senior vice president of Nokian Tyres, confirmed his joining in Sentury Tyres and acted as CEO of Sentury’s U.S. plant.

Toyo Tire changes board members

In July, after the exposure of fake data on quake-proof rubber devices, Japan-based Toyo Tire fired three board members.

In November, president of Toyo Rubber Industrial resigned his post.
