China’s tire export dips in July

Statistics show that China exported 44.46 million tires in July, dipping 0.7% year on year, but growing 4.8% from June.

In the first seven months, China exported 280 million tires, up 2.3% year on year.

U.S. still the largest single market

In view of the export destinations, the export volume to the U.S. stayed low and the exports in each of the first seven months were all lower on a yearly basis, but the U.S. is still the largest single export destination of China’s tires.

China’s exports to the U.S. dropped 10.2% year on year in July, or down 5.2% from June.

In the first seven months, the export volume to the U.S. was 33.25 million, down 15.1% year on year.

China’s tire export volume to Mexico in July dropped 16.9% year on year, but was up 20.9% from June. In the first seven months, the export volume totaled 14.74 million, down 5.8%.

Among the emerging markets, the export volume to Brazil was the largest, 2.4 million, growing for the six consecutive years.

China’s tire export volume to Brazil surged 90.8% year on year in July, or 35.9% from June.

The export volumes to Nigeria and Russia were fewer.

In Jan.-July, China’s tire exports to Brazil, Nigeria and Russia were up 68.1%, 31.9% and 20.8% year on year.

Sluggish exports to Middle East

China’s export to Germany grew 13.5% year on year in July, or up 9.8% from June. In the first seven months, the export to Germany grew 14.2% year on year.

The export to the U.K. decreased 5.7% year on year in July, or down 9.6% from June. In the first seven months, the export declined 1.6% year on year.

The exports to major countries in the Middle East were also sluggish.

In July, China’s tire export to Saudi Arabia dropped 12.8% year on year, or down 35.7% from June; that to UAE dropped 14.0% year on year, but was up 20.7% from June.

In the first seven months, the exports to Saudi Arabia and UAE were down 6.0% and 7.9% year on year, respectively.

In addition, China exported 1.56 million tires to Canada in July, up 38.1% year on year, or 27.7% from June.

In the first seven months, the export to Canada rose 32.9% year on year.
